Jubilation erupted at Iwo Township Stadium venue of the PDP as Chief Ademola Adeleke entered the venue of the PDP primary.
Members of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party were in jubilation as Adeleke came for the party’s primary election to select a candidate to run for the Osun West Senatorial by-election Iwo Township Stadium.
Chief Ademola Adeleke had on Tuesday night decamped from the All Progressive Party to the opposition following the conduct of the ruling party during it primary election. Ademola is the younger brother of Senator Isiaka Adeleke who dies on April 23.
The Senatorial aspirant was driven to the venue of the PDP primary election in a black SUV wearing a white agbada while the crowd of PDP members cheered on.
According to Alhaji Saheed Afolabi, the secretary of Adeleke Support Group mentioned to a PUNCH correspondent that the Peoples Democratic Party would not conduct a real election as confirmed that all aspirants had earlier stepped down for Adeleke.
In other news, a member of the PDP also said that the state party chieftains are pleading with a former senator to step down for Adeleke’s candidacy.
Also, the All Progressive Congress, APC, have also begun their election primary at a venue in Egbedore Local Government near Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The APC primary is a confirmation of Senator Mudashiru Hussain as the only aspirant for the senatorial seat in the party after Adeleke defected on Tuesday night.
