Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has dismissed all members of the state executive council, which comprises of Senior Special Advisers, Special Advisers and commissioners alike.
The sack was announced by Mr Onyii Wamah, who is the Permanent Secretary, Government House, in a publication on Friday on the state government’s website.
One of the state official affected by the cabinet dissolution is the Secretary to the State Government.
Those who survived the axe are Mr Sunny Nwakodo, Chief of Staff and Mr Obinna Oriaku the state Commissioner for Finance. Also Chief Umeh Kalu (SAN), Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state.
As at the time of filing the report there was no reason given to explain the dissolution of the state cabinet which affected the SSG, commissioners, and Senior Special Advisers.
The cabinet sack may have been necessitated by the scorecard given by each commissioner as the administration marked it two years anniversary during May 28 and 29 in a forum which the governor was present.
The announcement also indicated that new special advisers were appointed which includes Mr Eziuche Ubani as the Special Adviser on Works and Project Monitoring.
Other new appointees were Special Adviser/Personal Secretary to the Governor Mr Emma Nwabuko and Special Adviser on Urban Renewal, Mr Solomon Ogunji.
